The records probably came to the museum when Hollis French donated his large collection of silver to the museum in 1940. With a few outliers, this collection spans from 1911 to 1953. It is composed of mostly bound manuscripts with the diaries making up the bulk of the collection. The collection is divided into five series, Diaries, Catalog of Work, Ephemera, Art Collection, and Photographs. Where possible, it was arranged chronologically or alphabetically.

The Russell Barnett Aitken collection was donated to the museum archives by Irene Roosevelt Aitken. The collection documents the artist's life and career through visual, textual, and three dimensional materials. It consists of six scrapbooks, four photo albums, loose photographs, three sketchbooks, one notebook, fifteen works of art; and artist tools and molds.
